Everton and Atalanta in transfer battle to sign Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao
Everton, Atalanta and Inter Milan are reportedly vying for the services of the Udinese centre-back Rodrigo Becao in the summer transfer window.
According to Messaggero Veneto [28 February], the Brazilian was offered an extension until 2025 but he did not agree to sign a new deal.
He is expected to leave in the summer and the Toffees who made a bid for him in January are still keen on signing the 27-year-old.

Sign him
The Toffees are going to require defenders in the summer and Becao appears to be someone who Sean Dyche wants to bring to the club.
That will explain the bid at the business end of the transfer window and perhaps due to the lack of time to find a new replacement, the Serie A club did not let him leave.
However, that does not mean that Everton have addressed their defensive woes as they still have the same issues after failing to sign anyone in the summer.

There are also no guarantees about Conor Coady signing permanently while both Yerry Mina and Michael Keane could leave for good.
James Tarkowski appears to be the only banker as things stand and Dyche will be desperate to bring in a quality centre-back in the summer.
Hopefully, they can convince Becao to join, but they know that it will be highly dependant on their Premier League status.
