Everton must avoid transfer trap of old after brutal Ryan Fraser jibe sent

Everton must avoid falling into a transfer trap of old by making a move for Ryan Fraser after talkSPORT co-host Simon Jordan confessed he isn’t a player you’d want in your dressing room.

90min reported on 27 January that Everton were lining up a move for the Newcastle United winger after sending Anthony Gordon to Tyneside.

A move never transpired during that window but the Blues would be doing themselves a favour by not launching a bid if Jordan’s comments are anything to go by.

“He’s one of those players that you simply don’t want in your dressing room,” said Jordan live on TalkSPORT. (3 March)

“If you want to achieve anything meaningful, we can all achieve things when stuff is going our way but you club together when things aren’t going your way, Ryan Fraser didn’t fancy staying at Bournemouth because it was in that Covid season there were challenges about contract extensions and he didn’t want any of it.”

“He’s served himself up, he is what he is.”

Everton

Messy.

Whatever has happened between Fraser and Eddie Howe at Newcastle United it seems messy and Everton should want nothing to do with that whatsoever.

Howe admitted that Fraser has been demoted to train with the under-21s on March 3, clearly indicating that the winger has no future at St James Park.

Now, with the fantastic job Howe is doing at Newcastle, it’s hard to see exactly why Fraser would be getting frustrated and this kind of attitude needs to be avoided by the Blues.

And anyway, Alex Iwobi, Dwight McNeil and Demarai Gray would all stand ahead of Fraser in the pecking order of wingers at Goodison Park so there would be little space for him in the starting XI.

This may change if Iwobi chooses to act upon the interest shown in him by Turkish giants Fenerbahce, however, that’s another transfer story that is unlikely to transpire.

Whatever the case may be, Everton have made many transfer blunders like this before and making a move for Fraser would just add to the already silly total of mistakes already made by the Toffees board.
