Fresh Amadou Onana to Chelsea update shared, Everton summer exit possible
Chelsea remain keen on Amadou Onana with the West London club eying a summer move for the Everton midfielder, according to Football London.
The Telegraph reported (27 January) that Graham Potter’s side were pushing to land the Belgium international before the January window shut – although a transfer didn’t materialise.
However, Football London have since claimed (3 March) Onana is being lined up for a summer move to Stamford Bridge.

“Football London understands Onana remains an option for Chelsea as they look to further improve their squad in the summer. He is, however, not Chelsea’s first-choice option,” they wrote.
Shining light
Onana has been a shining light for Everton during the 2022/23 campaign. His energy and drive from midfield have been vital for Sean Dyche’s side and if he did depart, it would be a travesty. The 21-year-old is exactly the type of player the club need to be targeting.
Despite signing for £30m-plus, Onana will be worth significantly more. However, players like the 21-year-old are few and far between at Goodison Park.

If Everton are relegated to the Championship, Onana will more than likely leave Merseyside. The financial implications of dropping into the second tier could see a number of players depart in order to raise funds.
At present, transfer talk will probably take a back seat as Sean Dyche attempts to steer his side away from the bottom three. Sunday’s clash against Nottingham Forest is yet another must-win game for the Toffees after back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Aston Villa.
