Mark Lawrenson predicts result of Everton Premier League clash v Nottingham Forest

Mark Lawrenson is backing Sean Dyche to get back to winning ways when Everton travel to Nottingham Forest in the Premier League on Sunday (5 March).

The Toffees slipped into the relegation zone after back-to-back defeats to Aston Villa and Arsenal in the last week, but now take on another side in the mix at the bottom of the table and struggling for form.

And Lawrenson, speaking to Paddy Power (3 March) feels that Dyche would have got a reaction from his side after the 4-0 defeat to Arsenal and is backing them to get back to winning ways on the road.

Everton

“Both Nottingham Forest and Everton lost 4-0 in their most recent matches,” he wrote.

“I’m going to go for an Everton win. I’m not sure there’ll be much football played in this game and I would have thought it wouldn’t be a nice feeling going into training at Everton when Mr Dyche is waiting for you after a 4-0 loss. Nottingham Forest 0-1 Everton.”

Must win

Just like Dyche said in his press conference for the game, every game is a must win at this point and that starts this weekend.

Everton need points, and to get points they need to be better defensively and they need to do more going forward too having only scored 17 goals in the Premier League all season.

Everton fans celebrating

Forest have been good at home this season, and Everton have been at their worst on the road, but Dyche knows things have to change if relegation is to be avoided once again.

If the manager isn’t capable of getting a reaction from the players after two defeats in a week with six goals conceded and none scored, then it could well be a foregone conclusion that relegation is upon us.

The players won’t want to hear that or believe it, and the fans definitely won’t, so we need to see an improved performance and an improved mindset starting with Sunday.
