MSP Sports Capital in final stages for Everton investment, new look board coming – Sky Sports
MSP Sports Capital are in the “final stages” of confirming their purchase of a minority stake in Everton football club which would also result in a new look board of directors, according to Sky Sports reporter Alan Myers.
The private equity firm, which is fronted by American-Iranian billionaire Jahm Najafi, has been linked with acquiring a minority stake in the Merseyside club and were in attendance at Goodison Park for the 2-1 loss to Southampton on 14 January.
Writing in his Everton Reporter Notebook for Sky Sports News (3 March), Myers shared that MSP Sports Capital’s investment would coincide with the ongoing work at Bramley Moore Dock Stadium.

He wrote: “The development of the club’s new stadium at Bramley Moore Dock is progressing well and new investment in the form of the purchase of a minority stake in the club by American investment company MSP Sports Capital is in its final stages of completion.”
“That investment will coincide with the progressive work going on at the site of the new stadium, which has seen the exciting structure rise on the waterfront in recent months.
“It will also lead to a new-look board of directors, something which has been demanded by the fans for some time now.”

Fantastic news
The financial predicaments at Everton this season have been clear for all to see, and the completion of the investment from MSP Sports Capital can’t come soon enough for the club.
This is not only for the club on the pitch but also for the Bramley Moore Dock Stadium, which has been in dire need of investment over the past six months. Farhad Moshiri will be licking his lips at this news as it looks like he has been offered a route out of the heavy criticism he has come under in recent times.
The new look board of directors will be brilliant news to Toffees fans, who have lined the streets in protest for quite some time now to vent their anger at the mismanagement of the club.
Having a fresh outlook on proceedings on Merseyside can only be a good thing for the future, and as long as the club stays in the Premier League this season, you would hope they can make some strong steps going forward.
