Richard Keys takes swipe at Everton live on air, he’s proven wrong almost instantly

It’s a pretty normal day when Richard Keys takes a swipe at Everton Football Club, so it’s always nice when we can shut him up nice and quickly.

Prior to Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest (5 March), former Sky Sports host and current beIN Sports host Keys was discussing the game with Andy Gray and Jason McAteer, as well as the fact that Everton have the worst goal record in the Premier League this season.

The Toffees had only managed 17 goals before Demarai Gray and Abdoulaye Doucoure netted at the City Ground, which came within an hour of Keys saying they can’t score a goal.

“It doesn’t really matter how well you defend, because you can’t score a goal,” he said.

But less than an hour after that we had Gray slotting a penalty into the top corner to give the team the lead, and not long after that Doucoure was heading home too.

There are goals in this team, but it’s up to Sean Dyche to be able to find a way to balance out the team to get that out of the players and also shut up shop defensively.

In the game against Forest, he went too far the other way. The goals conceded were poor and conceding twice isn’t good enough, but he found goals.

Everton are in the relegation zone and unless Dyche finds a way to balance the team out, we won’t be coming out of it any time soon, if at all.

He’s started making changes to the side to find new solutions, which is a positive, and with an added point it’s something to take from the game.

Now we go back to the drawing board and find a way to silence the critics, like Mr Keys once again, and secure our Premier League status for next season.
