Sky Sports pundit drops ‘quality’ Isco verdict, rates potential late Everton arrival
Isco is a “quality player” but the chances of him making a late arrival at Everton on a free transfer are highly unlikely believes Kevin Campbell.
The former Real Madrid playmaker was heavily linked in the days after the January transfer window closed, with the Toffees left to look at free transfers following a complete failure to land any targets before the deadline.
But Sky Sports pundit doesn’t think he would even be of use at this point anyway as he has been without a club since before Christmas and would take time to get fit, when time is something Everton don’t have the luxury of.

He exclusively told Goodison News: “Good player, quality player. He’s got the resumé. But does he score you 10 goals?
“And if he’s out of contract he might training but he’s definitely not match fit. He’s going to need time to get into condition.
“Games are thick and fast. The Premier League is unrelenting, it’s unforgiving. I just can’t see it if I’m honest.”

When Isco’s name was linked it conjured up hopeful ideas that he might be able to come in and provide the invention in the midfield that James Rodriguez did in his early days during the Carlo Ancelotti era.
That seems a long, long time ago now with the club churning through managers since the Italian left, and fortunes having fallen considerably.
Bringing in a five-time Champions League winner would have been a statement of sorts after the misery of January, but there looks to be a reason that his Sevilla contract was terminated and nobody else has signed him, so the ship has surely sailed.
Sean Dyche will have earned every penny of his contract if he manages to come in and rescue a relegation battle with nobody signed to help him turn things around, but seven points so far is at least a marked improvement on the form prior to his arrival.
