Anthony Gordon embarrasses himself with Everton comments on Sky Sports today

Anthony Gordon has clearly not left behind Everton with some embarrassing comments on his January exit to join Newcastle United on Sky Sports News today (10 March).

The young winger admitted that he was left hurt by the Toffees for not giving him any credit for being a “massive part” in keeping the club in the Premier League last season.

Despite him being a big reason behind the club struggling near the relegation zone again this time around, he conveniently did not mention that.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News, as shared on their Twitter account on Friday 10 March, Gordon let his mouth run yet again despite leaving all of this behind that apparently hurt him so much.

“Yeah it did,” he told Sky Sports News.

“It hurt me a little bit, I’m not going to lie to you. I thought, I’m a 22-year-old lad, I’m not going to handle every situation in life perfectly, but as a club with thousands of people working for them, I think the effort I give them, I was a massive part in keeping the club up.

“I won Players’ Player, Manager’s Player of the Year, so for them to not really show me any credit or thank me for anything, it hurt me a little.”

Embarrassing.

This is exactly the reason why Everton will always have been better off without Gordon.

The young winger got too big for his boots instantly, and only cared about the money as he mostly sits on the bench and watches until the final few minutes at Newcastle.

Gordon may have played a big role last season, no one is disputing that, but to come out and publically share he was left upset after abandoning the club this time around? It’s not on.

After completing 90 minutes in the first five games on the season, he only managed that twice after and before his move to Tyneside, only scoring once with zero assists in that period [WhoScored].

If that isn’t a player switching off, we aren’t sure what is – with his final appearance against Southampton simply embarrassing, only completing 42.9% of his passes.

There are club legends and there are those who will be remembered forever, with Gordon not on the same trajectory as Wayne Rooney at the time he left for Manchester United.

Coming out live on national television and pulling off this Everton stunt will not help his cause for credit that he has set his heart on, it’s time to move on and stop embarrassing yourself.
