Jeff Stelling predicts result of Everton clash v Chelsea in Premier League for Sky Sports

Jeff Stelling has predicted Everton will fall to a narrow defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday (18 March) at Stamford Bridge.

The Sky Sports host believes the Blues will just about edge past the Toffees and win the match 2-1 as Sean Dyche looks to string some positive results together.

The home side goes into the game sitting 10th in the league table, with the visitors currently 12 points behind them in 15th and involved in that almighty relegation battle.

Sharing his prediction for Sky Sports’ Super 6, Stelling believes the away side will score in west London, but that the hosts will still have enough to come out on top.

Everton have enjoyed somewhat of a resurgence under Dyche, with the club winning three times, losing three times and drawing once since he took over.

The victories have all ended 1-0, two of which were very impressive, coming against Arsenal and Brentford, with the other an important win against fellow strugglers Leeds.

Tough test for Dyche

Importantly, the Toffees are unbeaten in their last two matches following a draw with Nottingham Forest and the win against the Bees, providing the players with some much-needed confidence ahead of a tricky trip to Chelsea.

The Blues are now undergoing a resurgence under Graham Potter after his initial struggles in the dugout, winning their last three matches in all competitions.

The two managers won’t be looking back on the reverse fixture from August much when Chelsea edged past Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park.

That’s because it was Frank Lampard in the home dugout and Thomas Tuchel in the away dugout, with now-Arsenal midfielder Jorginho scoring the only goal of the game from the penalty spot.

The likes of Anthony Gordon and Dele Alli also featured that day, both of which have been moved on, the former to Newcastle on a permanent deal and the latter to Besiktas on loan.

Hopefully, this one will different all around.
