Peter Reid wowed by what he saw Everton fans do at Chelsea yesterday
Peter Reid was wowed by the travelling Everton support during the Toffees’ 2-2 draw Premier League against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Goals from Abdoulaye Doucouré and Ellis Simms saw Sean Dyche’s side come from behind twice on Saturday evening (18 March).
However, Reid highlighted the away end during the fixture in West London and labelled the travelling support “simply the best”.
“Stamford Bridge yesterday. Everton fans take a bow. Simply the BEST,” wrote Reid (via his personal Twitter, 19 March).
Huge point gained
Chelsea are enduring a tough season but they still have world-class players all over the pitch so nothing should be taken away from Everton’s achievement. The majority of the Toffees’ relegation rivals will head to Stamford Bridge and leave with nothing. This was very much a point gained.

The trip to West London marks the start of a tricky run of fixtures for Dyche’s men with Tottenham and Manchester United to come. However, if they can remain defensively sound and maintain their threat from set-pieces, they certainly have a chance of upsetting the apple cart.
Reid is right in his assessment of the away end. Evertonians are known for their vehement backing of their side. It was present during the latter stages of the 2021/22 season and something similar will have to be replicated during the back end of this campaign.
The recent upturn in form has come at the perfect time – Dyche will be hoping it continues on the other side of the international break.
