Harry Redknapp loves what Abdoulaye Doucoure is doing for Everton since Sean Dyche decision
Harry Redknapp has sung the praises of Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure after his performance against Chelsea helped them to a 2-2 draw.
Doucoure has been drafted in from the cold by Sean Dyche and been one of the best performers in the Everton midfield, and got his second goal in three games against Chelsea to keep the Toffees out of the relegation zone.
And when asked to name his Premier League team of the week by BetVictor (20 March), former Spurs manager Redknapp included the Mali international in his picks and hailed him for his performances since coming back into the side.
“That was a brilliant result at Stamford Bridge and Abdoulaye Doucoure was as good as anyone on the park,” he said.
“He’d been out of the side, but Sean Dyche has brought him back in and he’s certainly delivering for his gaffer.
“He brings so much energy and athleticism to that Everton midfield and they’ve become a difficult side to play against.”

Doucoure was accused of not caring earlier in the season and when Frank Lampard dropped him from the squad there were few people who cared too much.
But since being given a clean slate by Dyche and coming back into the side, he has been a revelation and has offered the perfect answer to what this team needed in midfield.
He’s scoring goals, is influential off the ball with his constant running and pressing, and defensively he has been a big bonus too which has helped to free up Amadou Onana slightly too.
It is no coincidence whatsoever that his return to the team and this role has seen a big upturn in performances for Everton and he deserves plenty of praise for it.
It’s nice that he’s getting it from outside, but maybe now he should be getting it from inside a little bit more too and a new contract certainly shouldn’t be off the table if we can keep up this level.
