Dele Alli has email proof as Everton loanee subjected to 'scaremongering' by outspoken manager

Dele Alli has email proof that he hasn’t gone absent without permission after the Everton loanee was accused by Besiktas manager Senol Gunes, according to The Telegraph.

Gunes had claimed the former England midfielder was avoiding phone calls and that he didn’t return to the Turkish club because “it was raining” (quoted by The Telegraph, 22 March).

However, it’s understood his comments were “scaremongering” and that Alli was permitted to attend a doctor’s appointment in London on Wednesday (22 March).

The midfielder has been banished from Besiktas’ first team and it’s believed he won’t play again for them this season.

Remarkable

This really is a remarkable story. The Besiktas’ manager’s approach is shameful, particularly if he was granted a leave of absence. Alli’s career is now in a sorry state and he desperately needs his time in Turkey to come to a close.

It’s a move which has failed miserably and it’s a crying shame he didn’t return to Everton during the January transfer window.

Alli’s next move is extremely hard to predict. Where does he realistically go from here? He’s a high-earner and it’s completely unclear whether Sean Dyche will be willing to give him a chance next season.

His downfall has been astonishing. It was only a couple of years ago when the 26-year-old was being praised as one of the most promising youngsters in World football.

From Everton’s perspective, it’s a transfer which has failed and yet more proof that signing high-earners on big contracts is a route to avoid. The Toffees have made too many mistakes in the past, let’s hope the board have learnt their lesson after this latest Alli saga.
