Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal eye summer transfer of Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund

Everton, Newcastle and Arsenal have reportedly begun the chase to sign Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund in the summer transfer window.

According to Tutto Atalanta [24 March], a bid in the region of £35million-£40million should be enough to get the deal over the line.

The 20-year-old Denmark international has been in form recently, scoring seven goals in 2023 and he also bagged a hat-trick for his country on international duty.

Worth considering

Hojlund is the next big thing coming out of Scandinavia and there’s no surprise to see suitors queueing up to sign him.

He’s already proving his worth at a young age and Atalanta hold all the cards as they can drive up his price as much as they want.

This is where Everton are going to have to be careful as they do not have the funds to be drawn into a bidding war for the 20-year-old.

Newcastle and Arsenal will clearly be able to outspend the Merseyside club so if it gets to all clubs showing a keen interest, we do not see him coming to Goodison Park.

The Toffees will also not be able to negotiate terms in advance as no player will want to join a club that’s playing in the second tier.

They are looking at other striker options too and a move for one of them could hinge on Leeds United attacker Willy Gnonto.
