Journalist shares Dele Alli injury update, torn muscle on the cards
Dele Alli could have torn a muscle with the Everton loanee set to undergo final checks to determine the severity of his injury, according to Fanatik journalist, Gokmen Ozcan.
The 26-year-old has endured a tough week after Besiktas coach Senol Gunes accused the former Tottenham man of going AWOL. However, The Telegraph claimed (22 March) Alli has email proof of him being permitted to attend a doctor’s appointment in London.
Ozcan has since revealed (via Twitter, 24 March) he may have torn a muscle after missing Besiktas training on Friday.
“Dele Alli did not go to Beşiktaş’s training today due to the suspicion of a muscle tear. The exact status will be determined after the final checks,” said the Turkish journalist.
All going wrong
Gunes’ comments on Alli were completely unacceptable; even more so after the latest diagnosis of his injury. Things are going from bad to worse for the midfielder and he will want his loan nightmare in Turkey to come to a close as soon as possible.
His decline has been remarkable. It was only a couple of years ago the former Tottenham man was one of the most sought-after youngsters in the world – now he’s fighting to save his career from oblivion.

There’s a player in there somewhere, it’s now up to Alli to finally step up and get his career back on track. It’s unclear whether he will be given a chance by Sean Dyche when he does return from his loan spell in Turkey.
Dyche could be the man to turn his fortunes around but to onus will be on the former England international to show he’s capable of reaching his previous levels. This injury is just the latest in a long list of disappointing moments for the Everton loanee.
