Jordan Pickford deal to suit all parties as Everton exit for 'top six' club mooted

A summer move from Everton to Tottenham for England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford would suit “all parties,” according to talkSPORT.

The Toffees number one is committed to life at Goodison Park, but rumours continue to link him with an exit at the end of the season.

And given the situation with the ageing Hugo Lloris, Spurs are believed to be one of the clubs that Pickford could move to, particularly if Everton suffer relegation.

“Tottenham could be preparing for a summer of flux with Antonio Conte now sacked,” according to talkSPORT.

“Hugo Lloris is currently the club’s captain, but with the French star moving into the autumn of his career, Spurs could benefit from bringing in a new, reliable goalkeeper.

“Pickford is committed to Everton, but should a move to a top six club become available then it could be a deal that suits all parties.”

Highly possible

As mentioned, Pickford has committed himself to the Toffees and has been a superb servant to the Merseyside outfit over the years.

But if he wants to continue to play at the highest level, as well as represent England, a move away from Goodison may be his only option if Everton drop down to the Championship.

At Spurs, 36-year-old Lloris is not only ageing but is struggling with injury, with his back-up Fraser Forster just one year younger.

Many goalkeepers do, of course, get better with age, but a switch to North London definitely makes sense for 29-year-old Pickford.

The club certainly need to fix their current managerial situation for any incomings, but a new goalkeeper will perhaps be one of the priorities for whoever is in charge, along with keeping Harry Kane at the club.

Pickford has proven himself to be one of the top shot-stoppers in world football in recent years, and Spurs could do much worse than bringing in a very experienced number one.
