Everton transfer news as Salernitana will struggle to keep Boulaye Dia
Everton are interested in signing Salernitana striker Boulaye Dia with the Serie A side facing a battle to keep hold of him this summer, according to Tutto Salernitana.
The Senegal attacker is on loan at Salernitana from Villarreal, enjoying some tremendous form in Serie A and there is an option to make the deal permanent, and the Toffees are part of some competition for his signature after that.
The Toffees have been tracking the on-loan forward for months and already tried to buy him from parent club Villarreal for €16million [£14.1m] according to Tutto Salernitana on 12 October.

And according to the latest report from the Italian media outlet [29 March], Salernitana are already resigned to losing him this summer with both Everton and West Ham United interested in his services this summer.
“It is very probable that the grenade association decides to redeem the attacker, but then it will be very difficult to keep him in Salerno.
“The requests are not lacking, especially from the Premier League. Today Dia is worth at least 20million euros (£17.6m). Everton and West Ham have often expressed interest in the French striker of Senegalese origin”, Tutto Salernitana reveals.
Hotting up
The continued rumours surrounding Everton’s quest for a goalscoring striker will be hotting up as we draw closer to the summer window and Dia’s signing at Goodison Park is one which makes ideal sense right now.
Dia has 10 Serie A goals and four assists this season, leading the club in both categories and could finally be the man to replace the all-round output of Richarlison, and the injury-stricken Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

The Italian outfit reportedly wants failed Toffees striker Neal Maupay which means this is a deal which could work ideally for both parties if the Italian outfit chooses to activate their permanent clause to sign him.
It is certain to take Maupay plus a reasonable fee to get it done, but if Salernitana can make a profit on their £10.6million outlay and land a player they like, while Everton finally gets a target they’ve been scouting for while without breaking the bank, this is potentially a no-brainer deal.
A huge summer is ahead for Everton, and the much-maligned board need to get these key recruitment decisions right. Could Dia be the man to finally break the club’s dreaded number nine curse?
