Everton can prepare for further fan unrest as strange Divock Origi transfer rumour emerges
Everton have been mentioned as potential suitors to sign former Liverpool striker Divock Origi this summer, and the Toffees should prepare for further protests if the news is concrete.
According to Calciomercato, a move back to England is being mooted for the Belgian international given his struggles at AC Milan since his move last summer.
Origi has failed to set the San Siro alight as expected following his move from Anfield scoring just two goals from his 20 Serie A appearances to date, playing second fiddle to former Premier League star Olivier Giroud.

It’s been claimed [3 April] that there was plenty of interest in England, prior to his move from Liverpool with West Ham, Leeds, Aston Villa and Crystal Palace all set to make enquires and Everton strangely “cannot be ruled out” in making a move.
The Blues will be desperately scouring the market for attacking quality, especially up front given the frustrating injury troubles of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the struggling Neal Maupay reportedly set to leave after struggling to set Goodison Park alight since his summer move from Brighton.
Everton have been dreadful in front of goal this season, currently placed as the joint-lowest scorers in the Barclays Premier League this season, registering just 23 goals from 29 games, and are in danger of a potentially damaging relegation to the Championship next season as a result.
It is why the Toffees are linked with several names to fill the void up front for next season, and the links to the ex-Liverpool man Origi could certainly lead to more unrest and rage from the fans given the forward’s history against Everton.
The club have become a poisoned chalice throughout this season, with plenty of criticism and unrest aimed at the Toffees board for their incompetence and lack of transparency towards the Goodison faithful and potentially attempting to sign Origi may lead to more unwanted protests.

The Belgian striker scored six times in a Liverpool shirt against their fierce rivals which is simply not conducive to a healthy relationship with the Everton fans and given the number of names the club have been linked with, the Belgian must be deemed as a no-go zone for the likes of Kevin Thelwell and the club board who are still being scrutinised for their worrying recruitment strategy.
Everton will need to be smart and efficient this summer as a major squad rebuild is set to occur providing they secure their Premier League status but what kind of message will they be sending to the fans if they’re wasting their time trying to sign a former Goodison Park enemy?
