Everton table four-year offer worth £84k p/w to Lyon striker Moussa Dembele for summer transfer
Everton have tabled a contract offer worth £84,000 per-week to Lyon striker Moussa Dembele ahead of a potential free transfer this summer.
The former Celtic and Atletico Madrid forward is set to leave the Ligue 1 side at the end of the season when his contract expires, and Everton retain an interest in the Frenchman after the January transfer window.
And according to a report by Jeunes Footeux (3 April) the Toffees have tabled an offer to bring him to Goodison Park that would run until 2027 but only if they are able to avoid relegation this season.

“Moussa Dembele is of particular interest to Everton,” they wrote.
“Indeed, the Toffees who already wanted to recruit the OL striker during the last transfer window, did not give up the idea of securing his services.
“A 4-year contract with a salary of 5 million euros (£4.37m) per season awaits Moussa Dembélé at Everton. An offer conditional on the maintenance of the Toffees in the Premier League.”
Option
If we’re all being honest about the striker situation at the club right now, it’s very clear that we need to make additions in the summer.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin isn’t reliable anymore with his fitness issues, Ellis Simms isn’t proven and Neal Maupay simply isn’t good enough, and Dembele has got a really decent goalscoring record.

He was brilliant for Celtic where he won two league titles, and he played a small part in Atletico Madrid winning La Liga too, while his record for Lyon has been great during his time there.
To bring him to the Premier League would be a big step up in competition for him, but he has proven before that he is capable of being the go-to man for a team and that is what we need.
It seems like a bit of a pricey offer in fairness, but if we’re in the Premier League that’s the kind of money we need to pay to be able to get players through the door, and nobody should complain if we’re still in the top flight.
