Jamie Carragher savages Farhad Moshiri and Everton board live on Sky Sports, predicts administration if club are relegated

Jamie Carragher has taken another swipe at Everton owner Farhad Moshiri and the board for their running of the club while live on Sky Sports.

The Toffees are facing a points deduction after being charged with breaking Financial Fair Play rules in recent seasons, and currently are battling against relegation from the Premier League.

And while appearing on Monday Night Football live on Sky Sports (3 April, 19:09), Carragher repeated claims that Everton are among the worst run clubs in the country and suggested they could enter administration if they are to be relegated this season.

“100% it does (have an impact) and you think of the situation they’re in, I think on this show we’ve been very critical of the Everton board,” he said.

“Moshiri, Bill Kenwright, Denise Barrett-Baxendale, I called them one of the worst run clubs in the country. I think when you see the financial situation and the results that have come out in the last few days, I think you’d have to say we’re not far wrong when we talk about Everton like that.

“When you think of the money that owner has put in. Now we’ve been critical of the decisions he’s made and you have to accept that. £750m he’s put into Everton, and then you see that team on the pitch.

“If they go down, whether he’d stick around, whether they could even go into administration, I think that’s how bad it is financially for Everton right now.

“The way that club is run is not good enough and it’s a million miles away from where it needs to be.”

Spot on

Carragher is a Liverpool legend and we absolutely despise him for switching allegiances, but he is bang on the money here.

Moshiri, Kenwright, and Barrett-Baxendale are all hugely to blame for how this club has been run into the ground and it’s about time the mainstream media started calling them out for it.

Carragher understands the locals and what the club means to the community and the fans, and the fact that he has been allowed to do what he has done means Moshiri should get the brunt of that.

Avoiding relegation will obviously be a huge help to the off-field issues because it will relieve some of the pressure financially, but it won’t make everyone forget and nobody should stop talking about it if this does happen.

But finally the media is paying attention to the fact that we’re being run by leeches and people who have absolutely no idea about what they want to do or how to do anything.

All together now. Get them out.
