Ian Wright gushes over Everton defender Michael Keane after goal v Tottenham Hotspur

Ian Wright has been left blown away by Everton defender Michael Keane’s strike against Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on 3 April.

The 30-year-old scored an outrageous long ranger that saw his side cancel out Harry Kane’s penalty to see the game end 1-1.

Sky Sports shared the video of the goal that helped the hosts secure a hard-fought point against the top-four contenders.

Speaking on Wrighty’s House, Wright said at 31:00, “In the end, Everton got what they want because Keane’s goal was magnificent. It was fantastic.”

Can watch it over and over again

Strikes like that are not witnessed often by centre-backs and this is a goal he’s going to remember for the rest of his career.

Keane probably does not score those sorts of goals in training as well but the stars aligned perfectly for him as he whacked it into the back of the net.

It was no less than what Everton deserved as Spurs went into a shell after scoring the first goal.

The Toffees, despite being a man down, had the lion’s share of possession and created the better chances in that brief spell.

Kane’s theatrics certainly did the hosts no favours but Lucas Moura was deservedly sent off for a potentially serious challenge on Keane.

However, that did not stop the defender from scoring a worldie of a finish and hopefully, there are more tricks up his sleeve in the coming matches.
