Injury expert shares Everton update ahead of Manchester United Premier League clash

Everton are set to be without three first-team players for their Premier League clash against Manchester United on Saturday, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

The Toffees travel to Old Trafford (8 April) looking to make it five top-flight fixtures without defeat after their battling 1-1 draw against Tottenham on Monday evening.

However, according to Dinnery (Premier injuries), Sean Dyche will be without Dominic Calvert-Lewin for the clash against the Red Devils.

Abdoulaye Doucoure will also miss the fixture on Saturday after he was sent off during the draw against Spurs. Andros Townsend is a long-term absentee and is “ruled out” against Erik ten Hag’s side.

Positive

The feel-good factor is certainly back at Goodison Park and that’s down to the impact of Dyche. Under previous regimes, the Toffees would’ve capitulated after they fell behind. The focus on defensive shape and discipline has been impressive and it was the catalyst for Everton stealing a point against Spurs with help from Michael Keane’s wonder strike.

Four points from the last two fixtures mean the pressure is somewhat off heading to Manchester. But United have struggled for form of late and are there for the taking if Everton can stay defensively resolute during the opening exchanges.

Doucoure will be a miss. The 30-year-old has been reborn under the former Burnley boss and will be rueing his headloss which saw him sent off on Monday evening. It was a daft decision from the midfielder and it could now have implications on his long-term future at Goodison Park.

Everton are currently level on points with 18th-placed Bournemouth but could move as high as 12th with a win on Saturday (5 April).
