Everton target Terem Moffi issues transfer admission amid Marseille links
Reported Everton transfer target Terem Moffi has denied having an agreement in place with Marseille despite January links.
In an interview on Thursday, 6 April, the 23-year-old Nigeria international said that his focus still lies on Nice and he isn’t thinking about a transfer yet.
Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna reported in January that the Toffees were looking to hijack Marseille’s move for the striker.
Via Twitter, he quoted Moffi as saying, “We have never been close to an agreement with OM. In my mind, I only thought of Nice. So we were never close to an agreement.”
Worth considering
Moffi is a decent striker who still has the better part of his career ahead of him and will be an invaluable asset to the squad.
Everton lack a clinical number nine who can stay fit for a considerable amount of time and it will be very surprising if the 23-year-old is not under consideration this summer.
Nice have an obligation to buy him with certain conditions and if they fail to meet those conditions, he will be on the hunt for another club.

He could still be purchased by the Ligue 1 side and sold for a profit and that’s where Everton’s financial muscle will be put to the test.
It makes sense for the Toffees to start planning in advance as they will not be able to enter bidding wars for players in the summer.
If Moffi or any of their desired targets are keen on moving to Goodison Park, talks must begin in the coming weeks with the condition of Premier League survival of paramount importance.
