Injury expert shares Manchester United update ahead of Everton Premier League clash

Manchester United will be without seven first-team players for their Premier League clash against Everton on Saturday, according to injury expert, Ben Dinnery.

Donny van de Beek is a long-term absentee from Erik ten Hag’s plans and won’t feature against the Toffees at Old Trafford.

According to Dinnery (Premier injuries), Luke Shaw is also “ruled out” of the fixture after limping off during United’s 1-0 win over Brentford on Wednesday (5 April).

Furthermore, Christian Eriksen is recovering from an ankle problem and is not expected to return until the Red Devil’s Europa League quarter-final clash against Sevilla on Tuesday (13 April). Tom Heaton and Alejandro Garnacho are also sidelined along with Mason Greenwood, who is unavailable for selection.

Another absentee for ten Hag to deal with is Casemiro, with the talismanic Brazilian currently suspended after being sent off during United’s 1-1 draw against Southampton.

Chance

There’s certainly a chance for the Toffees on Saturday (8 April). Manchester United got back to winning ways against the Bees, but were not at their free-flowing best. In fact, they haven’t been overly impressive since their League Cup triumph over Newcastle.

The pressure is now on United to turn up and deliver. Dyche’s men have to look to frustrate. The longer the score stays 0-0 the more chance they have of picking up a result. We’ve seen this side grow in recent weeks, with the comeback against Tottenham displaying the character and confidence which is currently flowing through the squad.

Everton

United’s injury list isn’t pretty and the pressure is now on the home side to turn up. It’s been a difficult run of fixtures for Everton, with two points from Chelsea and Tottenham a good return. If another point is added to the tally come Saturday evening, there will be next to no complaints.

A draw or a win isn’t out of the realm of possibility.
