Sean Dyche sends Frank Lampard message as former Everton boss takes over reins at Champions League-chasing Chelsea
Sean Dyche has wished Frank Lampard the best of luck as the former Everton manager has been appointed as the Chelsea boss until the end of the season.
The Champions League-chasing side sacked Graham Potter amid a dismal run of results and have given the job to Lampard until the end of the season.
Dyche admits that he does not question managers getting jobs at any level as they all get it for a reason.
He said in the press conference ahead of the Manchester United game, “Fair play to him. I tend not to question other managers at any level. Everyone gets a job for a reason. I wish him well.”
Shooting themselves in the foot?
While Lampard certainly will have a point to prove at Stamford Bridge, his tactical acumen has been questioned at every club he’s gone to.
The only place he overachieved was at Derby and still failed to achieve what was expected there – to get them back into the Premier League.
At Everton, he failed to coach a system that could regularly create chances and bring the most of the attacking players he had at his disposal.

Had it not been for Richarlison’s exploits towards the end of the season, Lampard may have been sacked earlier as the Toffees appeared destined for relegation at once stage.
However, it’s important or Dyche to not focus on things happening away from the club as it’s a tough game against United on the weekend.
Old Trafford is never an easy place to go and things will have been made significantly harder for him given that he’s without four first-team players.
