Premier League may make example of Everton – Finance Expert
We’re delighted to welcome football finance expert Dr Daniel Plumley as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Everton...
Dan Plumley has insisted that the Premier League could well make an example of Everton as they continue investigating their potential charges.
The finance expert admitted that would be a big concern if he was a fan in the stands at Goodison Park, with the wait becoming agonising for answers.
The Premier League are within their rights to deduct points from the Toffees if they see fit, something that could send Everton to the Championship if it was to happen.

“I think that would be the concern if I were an Everton fan,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“The answer to that is simply yes and we’ve also seen the Premier League recently charge Manchester City, all this against the backdrop of the independent regulator and the timing of this is no coincidence.
“They absolutely could make an example out of Everton, absolutely. The question is which we are all waiting to see, will they?
“We haven’t seen this so there is no precedent, there has only been one Premier League club that has gone into administration and that was an automatic trigger of a points deduction and that was Portsmouth, we’ve never seen a points deduction linked to profit and sustainability regulations since they’ve been in play.
“There are no benchmarks, no precedents, but it is within their rights to punish if they see fit.”

Answers.
That is the one thing that every single Everton fan will be demanding.
Farhad Moshiri and the Premier League could be facing many questions if this was to lead to relegation, but it would be the controversial owner taking most of the flack.
The unbelievable mismanagement of the club was always going to come back and haunt it, and unfortunately that could cost our Premier League status too.
