Dele Alli agents will look to leave Everton this summer – Fabrizio Romano

Dele Alli’s agents will look for a new opportunity away from Everton in the summer after his loan spell with Besiktas came to an early end, says Fabrizio Romano.

Dele moved to Turkey on a season-long loan last summer but hasn’t played since February and has now returned to England with a hip injury, putting an end to his season.

The former England international was then pictured with balloons and laughing gas cannisters after a friend leaked the images, something Gabriel Agbonlahor took exception to, but now Romano has told his Substack that nothing has been decided yet on his future although he expects Dele to try to leave.

“After being pictured recently, the situation with Dele is difficult and there will be discussions with Everton to find a solution together,” he said.

“For sure his agents will look for a new opportunity but nothing has been decided yet. The first step has to be with Everton and talks will take place soon to decide together.”

Easy decision

Sean Dyche was worked wonder since coming into Everton and has given some players the rejuvenation their career was desperate for, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Michael Keane benefitting in particular.

But with Dele, the issue is far greater than just his footballing ability and it feels as though the former Tottenham man is going through it off the pitch.

He needs to get help from professionals before he can focus on football, and while Everton would surely help him if he stuck around if he doesn’t want to then we’d be crazy to convince him otherwise.

Alli has done absolutely nothing in an Everton shirt since joining in January 2022, and hasn’t earned the trust of the management or fans since he’s been away either.

If his agents are looking for a way out, show them the door and lock it behind them. We’ll be better off without him and his wages being at the club, and it would open up a spot in the squad for someone else who actually wants to be here.
