Dele Alli news as Everton player now at crossroads after new controversy

Dele Alli faces a career crossroads at Everton with the fallen England international caught up in a fresh controversy, as reported by the Daily Mirror.

The Everton player has appeared in several images, posted by his girlfriend Cindy Kimberly on Instagram, just days after he was depicted in the presence of “hippy crack”.

Alli was surrounded by canisters, as well as empty balloons, snus tobacco and bottles of alcohol after his return to the UK from his loan club Besiktas, due to a hip injury.

The Daily Mirror feature highlighted the stark situation facing the former Tottenham and MK Dons player, with a very uncertain future ahead.

“The midfielder has endured a difficult season on loan at Besiktas, with his career now at a crossroads,” they wrote.

“The England international was plunged into further controversy on Monday when a photo emerged of him surrounded by bottles of what appeared to be nitrous oxide.”

Long way back

After the party images emerged on Monday, there was an obvious reaction from many that Alli just doesn’t care about his career anymore.

That feeling will only have increased with the new pictures on social media from an individual who is hardly keeping a low profile.

With his move to Everton not going to plan, the stint in Turkey was supposed to kick-start his career but instead he has fallen further in his standing as a professional, merely a shadow of the talent he once displayed for Spurs and England.

There will always be clubs somewhere willing to take a chance on the 27-year old because of his past exploits but unless there is a significant turnaround in his attitude and application, the story will remain about the footballer he once was.

Alli faces a long way back in terms of a credible football career at any decent level but he will almost certainly be banished by Sean Dyche at Everton, where his contract runs until the end of next season.
