Everton make transfer enquiry for Federico Gatti, ready to make bid
Everton have reportedly enquired about the availability of Juventus defender Federico Gatti in the summer transfer window.
According to Tutto Juve [12 April], the Toffees are even willing to table a bid of £8.8million to sign the Italian defender, 24.
However, the Serie A giants are holding out for something almost thrice that valuation and are demanding a fee in the region of £26.5million.

Worth it?
The 24-year-old is finding it hard to get regular minutes due to the competition of places at Juventus – a squad filled with talented players.
He’s just managed to make nine league starts this season which is not ideal for someone who’d be looking to make it into the Italy squad and be a regular fixture in it.
Gatti is also highly rated and has been compared to two of the best centre-backs of the last generation – Georgio Chiellini and Leandro Bonucci.

Guido Angelozzi, sporting director of Frosinone said, “(He is) a Chiellini with Bonucci’s feet.”
That is some praise for an up and coming Italian defender and he’ll certainly try to achieve what they did at the international level.
For that, however, he needs to play regularly and Everton can offer him that chance as he’ll be a perfect fit for Sean Dyche.
It remains to be seen if Everton can bring down his asking price because it’s a tad steep currently.
