Exclusive: Everton midfielder Isaac Price to officially be announced as Standard Liege player in few weeks

Everton midfielder Isaac Price will be announced officially as a Standard Liege player in a few weeks once the deal is finalised, claims Belgian journalist Kevin Sauvage exclusively.

The Les Sports Plus reporter claims that the Toffees will receive compensation for training the player and making him a first-team professional.

The 19-year-old will not be signing a new contract at Goodison Park as his current deal runs out at the end of the season, making him a free agent.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Sauvage said, “Price will be leaving Everton for Standard Liege and the deal will include training allowances. It will be officially announced in the next few weeks.”

The young midfielder broke onto the scene last season and was handed his senior Premier League debut under Frank Lampard.

With nothing to play for on the final day of the season against Arsenal, Lampard brought Price off the bench in order to give him first-team minutes.

It’s understood that he will be signing a four-year deal at the Belgian club and is expected to snub any other sutiors keen on signing him.

Liverpool Echo reported on 11 April that Rangers and Celtic were believed to be keen on signing the 19-year-old but are expected to accept defeat in the race to sign him.

The Northern Ireland international was in contract extension talks with Everton, but has now appeared to make up his mind and an exit is on the cards with Liege likely to be his next club.
