Stan Collymore issues Dele Alli plea as Everton midfielder urged to ‘get in touch’
Stan Collymore has urged Everton midfielder Dele Alli to “get in touch” in a bid to help the 27-year-old turn his career around.
Alli has recently returned to Finch Farm following his loan spell at Besiktas, which did not go according to plan as he made just 15 appearances.
The midfielder was frozen out by manager Senol Gunes and often came under fire for his actions both on and off the pitch.

“I really want to help Dele,” Collymore wrote for Caught Offside. “I want him to reach out, get in touch with me and let me help him.
“I know all too well what it’s like to make bad choices – I am still reminded of some of the mistakes I have made daily by people on social media, so if I could help one other person avoid making the same, or similar mistakes, that I did, that would be great.
“I am willing to give the man my time and help him work out exactly what has gone wrong and how to fix it, and it may well be that he doesn’t feel passionate enough about football to want to continue to play it professionally, in which case, that’s absolutely fine, but let’s find the thing that does get you out of bed in the mornings, Dele.”

Tough times
Alli has certainly not helped himself throughout his troubled career, but he now runs the risk of completely destroying it if he isn’t careful.
Loan moves don’t always work out, and that was the case for Alli in Turkey, but it certainly isn’t the end of the world.
The midfielder just needs a slight kick to get his career up and running again, but whether or not that is at Everton remains to be seen.
At 27, he is now mature enough to make sensible choices, which have been few and far between in recent times.
There was plenty of hope with his move to Goodison Park, but the former Tottenham man has been sliding down a slippery slope since that transfer.
Constant criticism and bombardment from the media and others doesn’t help matters, but the ex-England international should be able to deal with that pressure as he approaches what looks like a final chance at reigniting his career on the pitch.
