Alan Shearer blown away by Everton attacker Dwight McNeil v Fulham

Alan Shearer was thrilled with the performance of Everton attacker Dwight McNeil after his goal against Fulham on Saturday, 15 April.

The Toffees winger scored an equaliser to make the scoreline 1-1 going into the half-time break at Goodison Park.

However, Fulham came out strong in the second period to score two more and make it 3-1.

During the half-time break on Premier League Productions, Shearer said [15/04, 15:59], “Good strike. Good vision. Did well to move it onto his favourite left foot. One strike. See you later. Good finish.”

Only good thing all game

The Everton players never looked to get out of second gear and it was a shameful performance from the team at Goodison Park.

Fulham have an outside chance of finishing in the European places so they literally had nothing much to play for.

The Toffees, at home, are usually a difficult side to beat, but it seemed like they were playing away from home, bereft of confidence and with nothing left to fight for.

Everton

Sean Dyche must be fuming with his players at full-time, given how well they ended the first half but it’s back to the drawing board now.

There need to be sweeping changes as if they can’t beat Fulham at home, they’ll possibly struggle against most if not all teams.

Everton have defensive reinforcements lined up for the summer but all bets are off if they get relegated so it’s very important that they stay up.
