Everton set to make new attempts to sign Juventus defender Federico Gatti

Everton are reportedly set to make “new attempts” to sign Juventus defender Federico Gatti in the January transfer window.

According to Calciomercato [14 April], he’s been on their radar for a while and they are very keen on signing him at the end of the season.

They’ve already made an enquiry for the 24-year-old Italian defender and are prepared to table a multi-million transfer bid as well.

Worth considering

The Toffees may have tightened up defensively under Sean Dyche but they are far from being the finished article.

There’s still plenty to sharpen around the edges and personnel changes are paramount in order to take this team to the next level.

Gatti would be a solid addition to this team and would immediately strengthen the playing eleven – something that is direly needed at Goodison Park.

Everton manager Sean Dyche

He won the Serie B Footballer of the Year in 2021/22 so he’s clearly someone who’s ready to feature for a Premier League side.

With Everton signing nobody in January, the upcoming summer window will perhaps be the most important it’s been in years.

When it comes to relegation, Dyche has been in this situation before and he has kept Burnley up on numerous occasions so it’s fair to expect him to do the same with Everton.
