Dominic Calvert-Lewin could return for Everton v Crystal Palace after missing 3-1 loss v Fulham
Dominic Calvert-Lewin could make his long-awaited return to the Everton side for next week’s clash with Crystal Palace after missing the loss to Fulham.
The striker hasn’t featured since going off in Sean Dyche’s first game as manager, having suffered a hamstring injury back in February.
The 26-year-old has trained all week but wasn’t included in the Everton match-day squad for the 3-1 defeat to Fulham at Goodison Park, however Sean Dyche has offered an update on his availability and hinted he could return for the next fixture.
“Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be in contention for the matchday squad against Crystal Palace next week,” journalist Joe Thomas wrote on his personal Twitter account (15 April).
“Sean Dyche says he has just had a good week at Finch Farm and that, if another good week follows, he could be in the thinking for a return.”
About time
It’s been a long period of time out for Calvert-Lewin after being substituted as a precaution over two months ago, but the team is absolutely desperate for him to get back fit.
Even in his absence the team have managed to pick up vital points and wins, but they haven’t managed to pull away from the pack at the bottom of the table and relegation is still a very real possibility.

There are just seven games left of the season and only three of those are at Goodison Park, against Newcastle, Manchester City and Bournemouth on the final day.
Everton absolutely need points from those games, and we will have a far better chance of getting them if Calvert-Lewin is fit and available because he’s just the best option we have up front.
It’s getting to squeaky bum time in the relegation race, and any positive news is welcomed. Hopefully he can at the very least make the bench for the Palace game.
