Everton want to sign ‘outstanding’ Samuel Chukwueze who ‘dazzled’ v Real Madrid

Everton are “crazy” about Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze along with Arsenal and West Ham United, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Nigerian has been in “outstanding” form in recent months and “dazzled” with two goals for the Yellow Submarine during their 3-2 win over Real Madrid on Saturday 8 April (Mundo Deportvio, pg 18, 21 April).

The 23-year-old wide man has yet to agree new terms at the La Liga side, with his current contract set to expire in the summer of 2024.

It’s believed the attacker could well be looking to move on to pastures new and that Everton, Arsenal and West Ham are all interested.

Hot property

Chukwueze is a player the Toffees are clearly after. Super Deporte claimed (31 August) that Everton were willing to offer in excess of £40million for the winger. Their interest hasn’t waned and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the club reignite a move for the Nigerian if they maintain their Premier League status.

Evertonians have been starved of a dynamic wide man during the 2022/23 campaign and after the departure of Anthony Gordon, another winger will be towards the top of Sean Dyche’s shopping list when the window opens. However, they will face competition for the 23-year-old.

Everton

24 goal involvements is an outstanding return and the winger could well be destined for one of Europe’s biggest clubs. Obviously, it’s important to remember that much of Everton’s transfer business will depend on their league status.

The board can firmly wave goodbye to the prospect of signing Chukwueze if they reside in the Championship come the start of the 2022/23 season.
