Jeff Stelling stunned as Paul Merson shares ‘rotten’ Everton info live on Sky Sports
Jeff Stelling was left stunned after Paul Merson shared an Everton statistic live on Sky Sports News on Saturday evening.
The Toffees drew 0-0 with Crystal Palace on Saturday to end their two-game losing run, however, the result did see Sean Dyche’s side fall into the bottom three.
The stalemate means Everton are without an away win in 14 games, a statistic which left Merson and Stelling stunned.

“Sorry, can I say one more thing. They’ve played 14 games without an away win. It’s the worst run since 1980,” said Merson (Sky Sports News, 22 April, 5:45pm.)
Stelling replied: “Goodness me, it’s a rotten run, isn’t it? And they find it hard to score goals as well. But at least they kept a clean sheet.”
Wins required
It’s getting to a stage in the season where wins are desperately required. The point against Crystal Palace was impressive, but, considering results elsewhere, Everton needed to be picking up three points. The most concerning aspect is that they didn’t look like scoring at Selhurst Park.
It was clear they were eager to leave with a point, which is understandable, but risks need to be taken between now and the end of the season. With Manchester City and Newcastle to come, things won’t get any easier for the Toffees. They need results, and fast.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin returning to form would be welcomed. The striker has been out for much of the season and has failed to be a consistent attacking outlet. With Neal Maupay proving to be an awful addition and Ellis Simms thrown in at the deep end, the pressure is firmly on the England international.
A full Goodison Park and a more positive display is a must when the Magpies visit Merseyside on Thursday (27 April).
