Injury expert shares early Newcastle team news ahead of Premier League clash v Everton

Eddie Howe will have two Newcastle players ruled out for the upcoming Premier League clash against Everton on Thursday (27 April), according to injury expert Ben Dinnery.

Writing for the Premier Injuries website, Dinnery shared that defender Emil Krafth is ruled of the clash at Goodison Park alongside Ryan Fraser, who has been training with the Under-21s in recent weeks.

Fabian Schar, who was substituted off in the Magpies’ 6-1 win over Spurs on Sunday (23 April), has a 25% chance of featuring due to a thigh injury, with a potential return date of 27 April.

Meanwhile, French winger Allan Saint-Maximin remains at a 25% status following a thigh injury he picked up in the 5-1 win over Newcastle earlier this month, with Dinnery giving a potential return date of 30 April.

Tough test

Newcastle’s 6-1 thumping of Spurs was simply astonishing, and Sean Dyche will be very wary of a rinse and repeat of this on Thursday.

Dyche’s side were solid, if not spectacular, in their goalless draw against Crystal Palace, lacking a cutting edge in the final third and relying heavily on Jordan Pickford in between the sticks to save the day on numerous occasions.

With Mason Holgate out suspended following his red card and Seamus Coleman still an injury doubt, Saint-Maximin could be a huge threat down the left wing if deemed fit enough to start.

If the Frenchman and influential defender Fabian Schar are ruled out of the clash, Everton will be hoping they may be able to spring a surprise at Goodison Park and use the home crowd to their advantage.

Points are a necessity of the Toffees right now, and even a single point could be the difference between staying up and playing Championship football next season.
