Merseyside Police send message to Everton fans as plans emerge for outside Goodison Park v Newcastle United
Merseyside Police has sent a message to Everton fans warning them of the use of pyrotechnics ahead of the match with Newcastle on Thursday (27 April).
The message comes after the news that the Toffees will arrive at Goodison Park for the Premier League match by coach.
Everton host high-flying Newcastle in the clash under the lights on Merseyside, with the former struggling near the bottom of the table and the latter going strong near the top.

“FYI the use of pyros both inside and outside the ground is not only illegal, but can also cause health issues through smoke inhalation or injury/damage through heat transfer,” Merseyside Police posted on Twitter.
Liverpool Echo journalist Joe Thomas also took to Twitter to praise The1878s for their role in the return of the club coach, posting: “Fair play to The1878s and everyone involved in the return of the coach arrival at Goodison.
“The scenes were incredible last season and can be so powerful. Dyche, Gray and Tarkowski have recently spoken of the impact Everton fans can have… this feels like a good move.”
Fans to play key role
There have been plenty of disgruntled Everton supporters in and around Goodison Park for the past few years, which is not surprising at all given the club’s failures on and off the pitch.
Those failures almost saw the Toffees go down last season, with the Merseyside outfit only just managing to stay up.
Unfortunately for fans of the club, their players are in a similar situation once again, with the dreaded drop looming.
But fans can be very powerful in football, and Toffees supporters will undoubtedly bring the noise for the clash against the Magpies, beginning long before the first whistle as they roar their team into the stadium.
That support won’t stop on the night, unless of course the players do not do their job on the pitch, which is a real possibility.
Unfortunately for the hosts, they come up against a high-flying Newcastle team who are full of confidence after only just smashing Tottenham 6-1 on Sunday (23 April).
