Everton want ‘high transfer fee’ to sell Jarrad Branthwaite to PSV Eindhoven
Everton are demanding a “high transfer fee” to allow Jarrad Branthwaite to join PSV Eindhoven on a permanent transfer this summer, according to VoetbalNieuws.
The young defender has spent the season on loan in the Eredivisie and has established himself as a starting centre-back under Ruud Van Nistelrooy in Holland.
His performances have impressed the club so much that they want to make the loan permanent, but with several clubs interested the Toffees want anyone who signs him to pay a premium price.

“At PSV they are already looking for defensive reinforcements for the summer, because there are still a few question marks,” they wrote (25 April).
“For example, they are working on a definitive transfer of the rented Jarrad Branthwaite, but Everton is asking for a high transfer fee for the English defender.”
Rightly so
Everton are in a big pickle financially heading into the summer transfer window, and that’s before we know if we’ll be playing in the Premier League or the Championship next season.
The club have invested a lot of money into Branthwaite’s development as a youngster and the loan deal was initially agreed for him to get more regular football elsewhere before returning to Goodison Park.
Obviously nobody was expecting him to blossom quite the way he has, and with so many clubs taking a look at his performances ahead of a potential move Everton have to be prepared for a sale.
But we dictate the price and with his contract still having plenty of time to run on it, we’re in the driving seat for any negotiations.
At this point it’s hard to argue that we wouldn’t be a better team with him in it, however everyone has their price if someone is willing to pay it so PSV need to move quickly before someone else does or he’ll stay on Merseyside.
