Sean Dyche confirms fan boost in return to Goodison Park entrance

Sean Dyche stated his “massive respect” for supporter effort as he confirmed Everton’s decision to travel to Goodison Park on a team bus for the Premier League clash against Newcastle United on Thursday, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.

As happened last season under Frank Lampard, the squad and management will arrive at the stadium collectively on a coach to the reception of the fans instead of making their own way, in cars.

The update comes as Everton currently occupies 18th place in the table, one point behind Leicester City.

The manager explained the decision at the press conference ahead of the huge test against Eddie Howe’s high-flying Magpies.

“All Evertonians, not just those who come in the stadium, know just how important this run of games is,” he said.

“It (coach welcome) was well documented last season and a couple of fan groups mentioned about it this season and I’ve a massive respect for them from what I’ve seen and heard from the fans since I’ve been here.

“They wanted to play their part, if that can make a difference, and beyond that we want the team to play their part and make a difference.

“I think it helps to create an atmosphere but the focus remains on the whistle blowing because that alone can’t win you the game as you have to make sure you are in the right frame of mind regardless.”

Every single advantage

Dyche nailed it with his last comment, above.

It will be all about what the players do, how they are mentally and ultimately, what they deliver on the pitch.

However, this news will be welcomed by the supporters, allowing them to get closer to the team, to put their passion on display to inspire the players.

As long as they give their all on the pitch, a fervent backing from the Goodison stands is guaranteed but on Thursday, the colour, noise and feeling of the Evertonians will also be present upon arrival to the stadium.

After that, just two home games remain with the might of Manchester City followed by Bournemouth on the last day of the campaign. Away days at Leicester, Brighton and Wolves complete the campaign.

Every single advantage and benefit will be required if Dyche’s men are to make a great escape in the final stages to avoid Premier League relegation.
