Sean Dyche issues Amadou Onana and Seamus Coleman injury update ahead of Premier League clash v Newcastle United

Amadou Onana and Seamus Coleman have both returned to training and are being considered to return for Everton against Newcastle on Thursday.

The Toffees duo have missed recent games through injury, but Dyche had revealed he was hopeful of them returning for the midweek game after their 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace on Saturday (22 April).

But while Dyche has confirmed that both players have returned to the grass, he says a decision will be made on their involvement tomorrow.

“Seamus and Amadou are back on the grass and we’ll make a decision on them,” he said. “Andros is also on the grass but further away.”

Townsend hasn’t played this season after suffering a ruptured ACL last season in an FA Cup clash against Crystal Palace.

Huge

It’s an absolutely huge boost for Everton to have this key duo available for such a big game at Goodison Park, and Dyche will know that.

Obviously if they’re unfit and are going to hinder the team then they shouldn’t be selected, but the fact they have returned to full training is enough to provide hope for fans.

Everton

Onana has been absolutely huge in midfield this season and has been one of the standout performers, while Coleman’s experience and character has been vital since Dyche has come into the club.

Newcastle are weaker with some injury troubles of their own, so with two key players likely to return that certainly improves our chances of getting all three points.

As for Townsend, it’s nice to see he is progressing in his comeback but it seems unlikely that we’ll see him playing again for this club before his contract expires at the end of the season.
