Yerry Mina seeks advice over Fenerbahce transfer as Everton exit emerges on the cards

Everton defender Yerry Mina could be set to join Fenerbache this summer and has sought advice over a potential move, according to Turkish outlet Takvim.

The 28-year-old, who joined for a big-money fee of £27.2m in 2018, is yet to feature under Dyche since his appointment because of constant injury niggles and has only made three Premier League starts all season.

Liverpool Echo reported on 26 April that the Colombian ace may not play again for the senior side with time running out to impress Dyche and it seems he has already started looking for potential destinations for next season.

And according to Takvim [26 April], the ex-Barcelona centre-back features on a list of targets for the Turkish 50,000-seater giants and has reportedly asked former Besiktas player Oscar Cordoba for more information on the Turkish league.

Time to go

Out of all the experienced heads at Goodison Park primed to leave because of expiring contracts, Mina’s situation is arguably the most depressing and urgent in terms of a release as his lack of availability and durability when the club have needed him most has been incredibly frustrating.

The Colombian defender joined Everton to much acclaim and excitement upon his move from Barcelona, but unfortunately, he’s rather proven to be an unreliable head, despite making such massive improvements to the team when he does start.

It was revealed in December that the club were not going to make any efforts in order to get the defender to renew his contract at the club.

And that again has been reiterated by the Liverpool Echo. It makes sense for both parties to part ways this summer, with the Toffees potentially undergoing a huge summer rebuild to revamp an ailing and quality-less squad.

Mina’s Goodison Park ride has been both fun and frustrating while it lasted.
