777 Partners takeover story at Everton ‘massively overstated’ as boardroom twist emerges
A full takeover was never on the table for 777 Partners and Everton, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.
Many fans were set to be overjoyed with the much-needed takeover, but Brown suggests that a deal is not expected to be completed between the two parties.
Both 777 Partners and MSP Sports Capital are involved in the process of investing in the Merseyside club, according to the Liverpool Echo.

“There were reports in Italy that 777 were interested or close to a takeover of the club,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT. “I think that’s massively overstated. I know Everton have spoken to this group several times. I don’t believe a full takeover was ever on the table with them.
“They are not significant investors in sport in the way that you would expect from people who want to take over and run a club completely in the Premier League.
“I understand they value the club far below what Moshiri does and that the chances of them investing in Everton are quite slim at the moment. It’s not expected from within Everton that a deal is going to be done there at the moment.”

Difficult times
It’s been a season full of twists and turns for Everton. Such a situation usually involves a mixture of positive and negative news, but it has only really been a case of the latter for the Toffees.
Fans will be desperate to see major investment as soon as possible, with many areas of the club in dire need of being repaired, or at least aided in some way, through money.
Major issues include the cost of the club’s new stadium, as well as the alleged Financial Fair Play breach that is hanging over Everton’s head.
Such issues and more are only set to unfold further if the Toffees are relegated from the Premier League this season, with the club in real danger of doing just that given their precarious position in the table.
Sean Dyche’s men currently sit 19th in the standings with just six matches left to play, beginning with Newcastle’s visit to Goodison Park on Thursday (27 April).
