Consortium visits Bramley-Moore Dock stadium with advanced Everton talks underway for investment

American firm MSP Sports Capital visited Bramley-Moore Dock at the beginning of the year ahead of potential investment into Everton.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the group watched on at Goodison Park as the Toffees lost 2-1 to Southampton in mid-January.

The firm also took time to visit Everton’s new stadium during their time in England, with the facility currently under construction.

“American firm MSP Sports Capital remains firmly in the picture when it comes to potential investment into Everton, despite other groups having been linked with a full takeover move,” according to the Liverpool Echo.

“The New York-based investment fund have been looking at taking a minority stake in the club, believed to be between 20 and 25 per cent, since the start of the year and the company’s co-founders, Jahm Najafi and Jeffrey Moorad, along with vice-president Peter Taylor, were present at Goodison Park for the defeat by Southampton in January.

“They were also understood to have visited the new stadium development at Bramley-Moore Dock.”

Sooner the better

The sooner all of the investment talks are done and dusted the better for all parties, but as history suggests with Everton and various other clubs, it may take a long time before all the necessary signatures are completed.

The Toffees have been plagued with various background and of course foreground issues in recent seasons, with matters on the pitch just about as desperate as those off it.

But fans of the club will welcome this positive news, coming amid various negative stories for the Toffees, primarily regarding how the club is being run, but also the results of the team.

The Goodison Park visit from the potential investors was, however, at the beginning of the year, with Everton providing the firm with very little incentive to come for another visit given the worrying issues that have happened since.

If Sean Dyche can keep the club in the Premier League, the summer will represent another moment for fans to be optimistic that the new season can be one to remember for all the right reasons.

The history of the Toffees, their potential under Dyche and the new stadium certainly give potential investors reasons to get on board.
