Everton, Liverpool and Real Madrid locked in transfer battle for Villarreal attacker Samuel Chukwueze

Everton, Liverpool and Real Madrid are among a few teams reportedly keen on signing Villarreal attacker Samuel Chukwueze this summer.

According to Goal journalist Ruben Uria, the Nigerian has a release clause of £88million at the La Liga club but they will settle for a £17million discount and sell him for £71million.

It’s understood that Atletico Madrid and Aston Villa are also keen as his contract talks with the Yellow Submarine have hit an impasse.

Via Twitter, Uria wrote, sharing his article on the website, “Samu Chukwueze continues without renewing. The race to get his signing begins. It has a €100million [£88million] clause that could go down to 80 [£71million]. Contract ends in 2024. Aston Villa, Everton, Liverpool, Real Madrid and Atletico de Madrid, interested.”

Way too expensive

Everton cannot realistically compete with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid when it comes to shelling out such big transfer fees.

They literally are under the cosh with FFP and face potential points deductions and other sanctions that could jeopardise them in the future.

Even if they sell one of their players for big money, that will be used to strengthen all areas rather than just spend on one new signing.

Everton

The Toffees looked like they had everything in place to sign Chukwueze and they were even getting him for a lot cheaper than what he’s available for right now.

However, that move did not happen and he perhaps is unlikely to move to Goodison Park in the summer unless their financial demands drastically reduce.

Given the growing interest in his services, that’s highly unlikely to happen so it’s best if they move on to other targets.
