Jamie O’Hara blasts ‘shambolic’ Everton live on talkSPORT after 4-1 loss v Newcastle United

Jamie O’Hara has slammed Everton for their “shambolic” performance against Newcastle on Thursday (27 April).

The Merseyside outfit succumbed to a disappointing 4-1 loss to the Magpies at Goodison Park.

The result leaves the Toffees struggling in 19th place in the Premier League with just five matches left to play.

“It’s a shocking night for Everton football club,” O’Hara said live on talkSPORT on Thursday (27 April). “I know Everton fans are not going to be happy because that was a bit of a shambolic performance really.

“They started the game well, the atmosphere was there, the fans were outside the ground and in the stadium. The fans were brilliant. But as soon as that goal went in, they’ve just got nothing to offer.”

More misery

Newcastle were the latest club to pile on the misery at Everton, with the Magpies once again in scintillating form in front of goal.

They smashed in four goals at Goodison Park to rip the home defence apart, with the only real positive from Sean Dyche’s side being that they managed to hit back once in reply.

But Dwight McNeil’s late strike was nowhere near enough to put the result in any danger, with the Toffees simply swept aside by Eddie Howe’s men.

Everton fans knew full well just how difficult it would be to take any points from the game, but they still turned up in their numbers and in full voice in order to create a formidable atmosphere at Goodison Park.

But they were let down by their team once again, with a once unthinkable Premier League relegation becoming more and more of a threat as the weeks go on.
