Middlesbrough fear emerges in Everton hunt to sign goal machine Chuba Akpom
Middlesbrough face a fight to keep Chuba Akpom at the club with three Premier League clubs monitoring the former Arsenal striker including Everton, according to the Mirror.
The 27-year-old hitman has enjoyed a sensational individual campaign in the Championship netting a whopping 28 goals and registering two assists from 36 games and was named the EFL Player of the Year recently.
Everton were previously interested in bringing him to Goodison Park, with the club registering an interest [Daily Mail, 2 January] along with other English top-flight clubs.

And according to the Mirror [28 April, page 67], those English top-flight interest aren’t going away with Everton, Leicester City and West Ham all leading the chase for his signature.
Middlesbrough fear they could lose him this summer if they miss out on promotion to the Premier League for next season.
Get Him In
Everton desperately need goals for next season and with the dreadful position the team has found themselves in so far, they need someone reliable both in their fitness and of course finding the back of the net with great regularity.
Akpom represents the perfect opportunity given his remarkable form this season. 28 goals in 36 Championship games is absolutely outstanding and highlights a player capable of taking that kind of form into the English top flight.

Michael Carrick labelled him as “fantastic” and their relationship has been key to Akpom’s tremendous form but with the club facing a tough fight to stay in the Premier League, they could well see their Premier League rivals beat them to Akpom’s signature.
If Everton are desiring to sign the best strikers around, they would need to secure their Premier League status and Akpom is a potential opportunity they can’t afford to miss out on. Should they remain in the top flight next season, they have to get him in.
