Everton relegation prediction shared by Sky Sports pundit after Premier League twist with Leeds United

Lianne Sanderson has claimed Everton are still in danger of being relegated despite Leeds United being humiliated 4-1 by Bournemouth.

The result on the South Coast has given the Toffees and Leicester a chance to put some distance between themselves and the bottom three when the two sides meet on Monday evening (1 May).

However, Sanderson feels that despite Leeds’ poor form and change of manager, Everton are very much in the relegation conversation.

Speaking on Sky Sports News on Sunday (30 April, 4:29pm), after blasting Leeds for their changes in management, Sanderson said: “Not many people are talking about Everton but I think Everton potentially within a shout [of being relegated] as well.

“I know the Everton fans feel that way.”

The game against Dean Smith’s side on Monday will be make or break. Everton have been woeful on the road, so it’s hard to see how they will get anything from their trip to the King Power Stadium. Something has to change and it’s up to Sean Dyche to make his side more of a threat.

It’s got to a point in the season where draws aren’t enough. It’s time to throw caution to the wind. The majority of Evertonians would rather this team went down fighting, as opposed to playing defensive football and just not conceding as their prime objective.

With Southampton all but down, Leeds in woeful form, and Nottingham Forest also struggling, it feels as if the winner on Monday could have one foot firmly in the Premier League come the start of the 2023/24 campaign. It’s been a torrid campaign for plenty of teams, and it’s clear there will be at least one heavyweight casualty.
