Everton attacker Dele Alli retirement claims addressed amid laughing gas controversy – Injury Expert
We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Everton...
Everton attacker Dele Alli will not be forced into an early retirement purely based on the fact that he inhaled laughing gas, claims Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert believes that he cannot speak from his mental state but in terms of his body, this should not be why he calls it a day in his mid-20s.
This comes after the Daily Mail shared a picture in April 2023 which showed him being around laughing gas canisters as he’s battling injury issues while on loan at Besiktas.

Spanish media outlet Fichajes reported on April 17 that Alli may even be forced into retiring based on his issues off the pitch physically.
Speaking exclusively with Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said, “It’s certainly not ideal to see a player with laughing gas particularly one like Alli who has been questioned for his commitment to the game.
“In and of itself, laughing gas in small doses doesn’t really have any short or long-term consequences but in Alli’s case, it’s just another drop in the bucket in terms of not being professional about his career and habits.
“I don’t see any merit in that report from a purely injury perspective but I can’t speak on his mental state in terms of wanting to play football or not.“

The England international has scored two goals in 13 games on loan for the Turkish side who have the option to buy him in the summer.
After his recent controversy, jerseys of Alli have been moved to the back of the official club shops with there not being a great demand for them.
His contract at Everton runs out in 2024 with him barely featuring for them since moving from Tottenham Hotspur in January 2022.
