Everton defender Seamus Coleman could be ruled out for months with ACL injury – BBC pundit
Everton defender Seamus Coleman’s season may have come to an end after he had to be stretchered off in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City.
The Toffees visited the King Power Stadium on Monday, 1 May, to take on Dean Smith’s side in a relegation six pointer.
Both teams shared the spoils but Everton suffered the bigger blow as Boubakary Soumare injured Coleman, which has led to speculation that it could be an ACL injury and potentially nine months out.

Speaking on BBC Radio Five Live after the game, former Manchester City player Michael Brown expressed concern that Coleman may have suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Brown said: “It doesn’t look good [for Coleman]. Soumare just ran into the side of his shin and it could be an ACL injury [9 months recovery time].”
Hope he’s fine
It’s never good to see a player getting stretchered off and if it’s especially one who’s only just recovered from an injury issue.
It was understood that he had strains in both his hamstrings and that it would be a massive risk for Everton to play him but one they had to take.
Perhaps due to him being pushed back quickly, he’s aggravated his injury and is now unlikely to be back again this season.

Everton desperately needed some leadership and organisation and that’s why he was brought back in and it’s fair to say that it worked.
However, they now will either have to rely on Ben Godfrey or Nathan Patterson to be the right-back until the end of the season.
It remains to be seen what Sean Dyche ends up doing but it’s important that he makes the right call as some of his selections have bordered on the ridiculous.
