Everton transfer news as Conor Coady faces uncertain future under Sean Dyche
Conor Coady faces an uncertain future at Everton, as well as his parent club Wolves, according to a report in the Daily Mail [Page 69, 02 May].
The central defender was an unused substitute, again, in Everton’s 2-2 draw with Leicester City on Monday evening with James Tarkowski and Michael Keane forming the preferred partnership of manager, Sean Dyche.
Coady has made 22 appearances for the Toffees this season but his last outing was over two months ago, with a £4.5million option remaining to make his loan permanent.

Due to a lack of game time under the former Burnley and Watford boss, it is clear to see that his next step is up for debate.
“Conor Coady is another who faces an uncertain future this summer,” stated the Mail report.
“The centre-back is coming to the end of his season-long loan at Everton, who have an option to buy him for £4.5million from Wolves.
“But Coady has not started a game since Everton’s 2-0 home defeat by Aston Villa on February 25 and it is hard to imagine Everton making the move permanent, especially if Sean Dyche keeps them up.”

Destination unknown
Even if Everton are relegated to the Championship, it appears unlikely that Dyche would turn to Coady, having overlooked him in his time at the club so far.
The player will likely opt for a fresh start, considering the situation at Molineux that he left behind, as mentioned.
Julen Lopetegui could well add to his defensive options in the summer, but he will get a chance to take a look at the 30-year-old who is contracted to the West Midlands club until the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The current period will represent a frustrating time for Coady, with the change of manager at Goodison not working out for him, personally. As well as Yerry Mina, he remains on the sidelines awaiting action in the final stage of the season.
Overall, it appears quite unlikely that his temporary stay on Merseyside will be turned into a permanent switch with the next destination very much unknown for the 10-cap England international.
